Stainless Steel Poultry Shears

Sturdy stainless steel poultry shears are powerful and easy to use. Dishwasher safe.. I ordered these Stainless Steel Poultry Shears for my kitchen; I’ve been wanting to get a dedicated pair of poultry shears instead of using my utility kitchen scissors.<br /><br />These shears are made from stainless steel with aluminum handles. They’re heavyweight shears, but still easy to use. I have fairly small hands, but I didn’t find these large shears too heavy or unwieldy. They’re sturdy, with a safety lock you can flip with a thumb.<br /><br />When I took these out of the box, the safety lock wasn’t engaged; the blades sprung apart as I removed them from their fitted plastic liner. Be careful unpacking; these have a fair amount of power in the springs.<br /><br />I’ve found these very easy to use when cutting meat or even cutting through chicken bones. I’ve never used this type of handle before; one has a rounded opening like scissors, the other is flat, but it’s very easy to acclimate to using. The handles also work for opening jars and even cracking nuts. I haven’t tried it yet, but I bet they’re great for lobster shells, too.<br /><br />These are dishwasher safe, and also wash up easily by hand. Their heavyweight shears are about 10” long; the handles are about 5 1/2”, and the blades about 3 1/3” long.<br /><br />They fit neatly into a drawer for storage, but remember to flip the lock closed.<br /><br />At the current price ($20.99) I would say these offer excellent value for the money. The shears are inexpensive, sturdy, and strong. A great kitchen tool for beginning and advanced chefs.
